Vibration analysis is the single most informative measurement available on rotating equipment. Bearing defects, misalignment, imbalance, mechanical looseness, resonance, gear wear, electrical faults and flow-induced problems each leave a distinct signature in the spectrum and time waveform. Read together with running speed, machine geometry and operating context, that signature identifies not just that a machine is deteriorating but why, and how quickly.

Surveys are carried out with calibrated data collection equipment while the machine runs at a representative load. Measurements are taken in three axes at each bearing position, with phase readings where a diagnosis requires them. Where a machine is already in a known-bad condition, additional high-frequency enveloping and orbit or coast-down data may be captured to separate competing fault modes.

Results are trended against previous surveys where a history exists, and against ISO severity bands where it does not. Every flagged asset receives a stated fault mode, an assessed severity, a recommended action and a retest interval — so a maintenance planner can schedule work rather than guess at it.

  • Gear mesh wear, tooth damage and eccentricity
  • Electrical faults: broken rotor bars, stator issues, soft foot
  • Cavitation, recirculation and blade pass problems in pumps and fans
